Chris Real – President DPS Technical, Inc.

Chris Real is a long-standing participant in the transportation industry, with over 30 years of continuous activity in the specialty and high performance segment of the industry.Chris Real, CLS

Chris has been directly involved in several forms of motorsports, and has participated for many years as a competitor, team member and sponsor. He has been responsible for a variety of technologies & specialized testing procedures for engines, fuels, lubricants and chemicals. He implemented the “CHEMHELP” environmental protection service center consulting service to minimize the environmental impact related to motorized recreational events in 1984 and expanded the educational aspect of this service to an international level in 2001, where the guidance has managed risks ranging from ATV Jamborees to International Surfing events.

Initiated the OHV Sound Awareness Program at educational and field activities that includes noise measurement enforcement training for land use authorities and implemented the “Quiet Bike Challenge”© award to bring user awareness to the OHV noise issue in 2001.

Chris Real has authored and presented several technical papers on the subjects of acoustics, sound testing procedures, tribology & lubrication and related procedures to various sections of the technical, fuels, lubrication and enforcement & educational community.

He is an active member of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Motorcycle Technical Committee, Motorcycle Sound workgroup & other SAE Specialty Vehicle committees.  A participating member of The Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers (STLE) The American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), The Association of Professional Consultants (APC) and the Acoustical Society of America, Los Angeles Chapter. Chris is also active in numerous  community and industry associations, including the American Motorcyclists Association (AMA), Motorcycle Industry Council (MIC), National Off Highway Vehicle Conservation Council (NOHVCC).

Chris is an active motorcycle enthusiast and participates in numerous events each year as a rider, as well as providing technical or environmental protection services.

Professionally, Chris is the president of DPS Technical, Inc., and provides vehicle testing services and reports to EPA, NHTSA, and DOT for vehicle regulatory and international certification purposes.
